Where The Air is Crisp

Look closely and you may see Grabs sitting atop The League! Power Rankings mountain tied for the #1 spot

Grabs has been one of the most consistent managers that The League! has ever seenโ€ฆboth in freshness and pure dominance. He has unquietly taken Vegas by storm year after year while also quietly climbed to the top of The League! Power Rankings.

A combination of the 3 main statistical categories, the power rankings combine winning percentage, points per game, and average place into one overall ranking. Each category is ranked by points ranging from 1 (the worst) to 13 (the best). Grabs comes out to being two points away from being perfect at a 37. He is ranked 1st in Winning Percentage (.601), 3rd in Points per Game (132.71) and 1st in Average Place (4.83). The only person he is sharing the mountain top with is Herriott, who is 2nd in Winning Percentage (.571), 1st in Points per Game (136.98), and 2nd in Average Place (5.0).

His success goes well beyond just Power Rankings. In only 12 seasons, Grabs has gone into the playoffs with a first round bye 5 times and placed in the top three 6 times. That means that in half of his seasons, he has finished the year in the money.

Grabs needs to be careful that he doesnโ€™t get too comfortable at the top of the mountain. He has had slip ups along the way (both real and metaphorically), and they have come roughly 3-4 years apart. He could be due for a slip up in 2020 if history is any indication.

His first slip up was in 2009, where he finished in 8th place with just over 118 points per game. The next one came in 2012 where he also finished in 8th place with almost 123 points per game. His most recent slip up was his worst, where he finished in last place in 2016 with 120 points per game and a year off to think about what went wrong. Weโ€™re not math majors, but thankfully Grabs is. 2016 + 3 to 4 years/slip up = trouble.

Grabsโ€™ slip ups, shown by banana peels, have come 3-4 years apart. Is he due for another one this year?

For now, Grabs can relish in the fact that he (and Herriott) are atop the League! power rankings. If heโ€™s able to avoid another banana peel and has more than just a big day but a big season in 2020, he could find himself the lone king of the mountain.
